At a time when electronic music was sober and serious, electro-pop pioneer and “clownprince of the avant-garde” Jean-Jacques Perrey injected a revolutionary dose of humour and playful glee to the medium. One of the first Moog synth musicians, Perrey blended the instrument with his then groundbreaking looping techniques to create a uniquely comic
take on the future.
For more than 50 years, Perrey has been stirring up good moods with his “Music for Laughs and Smiles”. Perrey has worked with Pierre Schaeffer, Gershon Kingsley, Edith Piaf, Walt Disney and Angelo Badalamenti and has been a huge influence on countless later electronic musicians.
